Description
This group of four memorials is located approximately 10 yards south of the south aisle of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels in Penkridge. The memorials date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and are constructed of ashlar stone. The group includes one chest tomb and three altar tombs. The altar tombs feature moulded bases and oversailing caps, with one topped by an urn finial and another displaying a fluted frieze. The chest tomb is distinguished by fluted corner pilasters. The memorials commemorate John Fieldhouse, who died in 1801; William Hodgson, who died in 1786; Mary Hodgson, who died in 1805; and Olive Gibbons, who died in 1795.
