Description
The Former Railway Inn is a house that later became an inn, dating from the 17th century with later alterations and additions. It features a timber-framed structure with roughcast and a plain tile roof, along with a roughcast brick ridge stack.
The building has a three-bay lobby-entry plan and is one storey with an attic. There are three windows, with attic dormers that are casements and have weatherboarded gables. To the right on the ground floor, there is a bracketed bay window, while to the left of centre, there are a pair of bay windows flanking a six-panelled door.
To the left, there is a single-storey extension that includes one 20th-century glazing bar casement and an integral end stack. The right-hand gable of the main building shows exposed framing with square panels.
Inside, the inn features exposed timber-framed cross walls and chamfered and stopped ceiling beams.
