Description
Bedford Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations. It is timber framed with brick infill panels and has rebuilt gable walls, topped with a blue machine tile roof. The building has two storeys and a two-window frontage, featuring a central entrance and end stacks. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, and there are fixed lights flanking the front door. Diagonal braces are present at the cill and eaves levels, and there is a blocked door to the left. This cottage is a remnant of a larger house, which likely had additional bays to the left of the frontage, possibly indicating a lobby entrance. The eaves were raised in the 18th century.
