Description

This village cross, located approximately 5 yards west of No. 51 (Cross House) in Talke, Kidsgrove, is likely from the 13th century and was restored in 1887. It features a medieval stepped base, with a panel on the west side of the top step inscribed "ERECTED A.D. 1253 / RESTORED A.D. 1887." The 19th-century square shaft has wide chamfers and run-out stops, and it is topped by a cross.
