Description

Bridge Number 131 on the Trent and Mersey Canal is a Grade II listed structure built around 1824-1827. It is constructed of red and blue brick in English bond, featuring a stone parapet band and coping. The bridge has a rusticated ashlar surround to a low segmental arch. Bridge Number 131 is likely part of the alterations made by Thomas Telford during the construction of the second Harecastle Tunnel.
