Description

High Bridge is a road bridge built in 1830, made of cast iron by the Coalbrookdale Works. It features rusticated ashlar abutments and has a single segmental arch spanning 140 feet over the River Trent, adorned with cross-patterned spandrels. The abutments are topped with a dentilled cornice and extend forward to end in semi-octagonal piers with large caps. There is a flight of steps on each side of the bridge, located behind the abutments. The original iron parapet has been removed. The other part of High Bridge is listed under Mavesyn Ridware.
