Description

The Old House is a 17th-century house located on Hall Road in Armitage with Handsacre. It features a timber frame set on a sandstone plinth, with brick infill panels and a plain tile roof. The house has a T-shaped plan, with the main section running north-south and facing east, while a rear wing extends east-west. It stands two storeys high with a gable-lit attic. The exterior displays three tiers of square panels up to the eaves level, supported by straight tension braces. The windows are irregularly arranged casements, and there is a door at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
