Description
Nos. 5 and 7 on Pinfold Hill are a house with an early 17th century core that was refaced in the late 18th century and altered in the 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick, with some remains of timber framing, and features a tiled roof with a dentilled eaves course and a central ridge stack. It has a two-storey, two-window front with 20th century three-light casements. The entrances are located at both ends, each with 20th century doors, and there are 20th century additions on the left and right sides.
On the right side, closely spaced uprights and tie beams are exposed, along with some square framing at the rear. The interior of No. 5 includes double spine beams on both the ground and first floors, which are ovolo moulded with run-out stops. The exposed joists are also chamfered with stepped run-out stops. There is a sandstone fire surround and a large fireplace beam that is chamfered on the outer side. The roof contains three closely spaced trusses with ties and diagonal braces, which may have once supported a cross wing. The interior of No. 7 has not been inspected.
