Description

This barn, located approximately 10 yards east-north-east of Church House, is a mid-18th century remodelling of a 15th or 16th century building. It features a timber framed core constructed using cruck techniques, with the outer walls rebuilt in red brick and a plain tile roof. The barn is a five-bay range aligned north-south and faces east, standing one storey high with two tiers of ventilation loops and a central full-height entrance.

Inside, there are four pairs of curved crucks with two collars; the lower collars support the wall plate while the upper collars hold a pair of trenched purlins. The interior also includes long curved windbraces.
