Description
This property, now divided into two dwellings, dates largely from the 16th century, with significant alterations and additions in the 18th and 19th centuries. The original timber-frame structure has been retained, but the outer walls have been replaced and the building extended, now rendered in painted brick, with a plain tile roof. A brick ridge stack and an integral end stack are present. The building originally had a two-cell baffle-entry plan aligned east-west. It has been extended to the west and north, incorporating an outshut. The main two-storey building is accompanied by a single-storey outshut at the front, featuring an irregular arrangement of windows. The outshut has three small casement windows and a boarded door, alongside a recessed bay with a boarded door and a bracketed canopy, and a glazing bar casement above. Internally, the timber framing is exposed, featuring square panels with straight bracing. A later inserted ceiling in the larger of the two bays displays a chamfered spine beam with run-out stops. A large open fireplace is also notable.
