Description
The church tower, located approximately 100 metres north of the Church of St. John, dates back to the 13th century and has undergone later alterations. It is constructed of coursed sandstone and has a square plan that rises in three stages. The tower features a cyma recta cornice below the parapet and has lancet windows in the bell chamber, with recessed plaques above them. There is a pent, buttressed, stone-roofed outshut to the south. A fragment of the south aisle remains, which includes the remnants of a pointed south door. This tower marks the site of the former church, with its foundations lying to the east. The original church was dismantled to make way for the new church.
