Description

Drayton Footbridge is a footbridge built in the late 18th century. It is made of red brick, which is painted white on the outside, and features a stone parapet. The bridge is flanked by a pair of cylindrical stair turrets that are connected by the footbridge. Each turret has a pointed arch doorway and a crenellated parapet. This footbridge serves the Minworth to Fazeley branch of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal, which was completed in 1789, with John Pinkerton as the contractor.
