Description

Drayton Swivel Bridge is a late 18th-century swivel bridge located over the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal in Drayton Bassett. It features cast iron mountings and a handrail, with a wooden floor and stone surround. The bridge is low and flat, spanning the canal. The Minworth to Fazely branch of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal, which this bridge serves, was completed in 1789, with John Pinkerton as the contractor.
