Description

The cowhouse, stables, and attached bakehouse, located approximately 10 yards northeast of Hill Top Farmhouse, date from the late 17th century to early 18th century. They are constructed of red brick and feature plain tile roofs with raised verges, forming an L-shaped plan. The principal range consists of three roof bays aligned north-south and facing east, with stable and bakehouse extensions to the southwest, aligned east-west and facing south.

The east front has two storeys and three tiers of ventilation loops, with three casement windows at first floor level. There is a door to the right of center with a segmental head. On the south front, the gable end of the main range is to the right, featuring a segmental arched stable-type door and a loft trap above, along with an oval pigeon loft opening in the gable. A rear wing connects the main range to the bakehouse, which has a ground floor stable-type door and a flight of steps leading to a loft door. The bakehouse itself is a single-storey structure made of brick and timber framing, with a central door flanked by a pair of casements.

Inside, the bakehouse contains a large open fireplace with an oven at the back, while the main range features timber framed transverse trusses.
