Description
This lodge, located approximately 20 yards north of the Triumphal Arch at Quixhill, was built in the early 19th century and is designed in a simple neo-classical style. It has a square plan and is constructed from ashlar stone. The building is one storey high and consists of a single cell, featuring blind windows with painted glazing bars set within a Tuscan portico that is distyle in antis. It has a triangular pediment and a plain parapet with a projecting band. The lodge is connected to the Triumphal Arch by railings and is part of a significant group that marks the former entrance to Alton Towers.
