Description
The building at 53 High Street dates to circa 1880. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings, designed in a restrained Tudor style that echoes the Offices of Bass's Brewery on the opposite side of High Street. The two-storey building has four windows, each set within moulded stone architraves with mullions and a transom. It features a stone plinth and moulded stone string-courses. A doorway is incorporated within a moulded stone surround, containing a blocked rectangular fanlight and a modern divided glass door. The building has a parapet with stone coping and two gables, each topped by obelisk finials. The ends are coped and gabled.
