Description
146 High Street is a building dated 1750, which is a remodelling of an earlier 18th-century structure. It is constructed of red brick and stands three storeys tall with three bays. The central bay slightly projects and features a pediment, a Venetian window on the first storey, and a semi-circular tripartite window above, both without glazing bars. Each side bay has two sash windows, also without glazing bars, topped with flat brick arches. The building has a restored or rebuilt central stone cornice hood with sidelights, flanked by flat pilasters and topped with an open balustrade. The entrance includes a plain square-headed doorway with a four-panelled divided door. Additional features include moulded plaster eaves and a hipped slate roof.
