This is a chest tomb located approximately 1 yard south of the south aisle of the Church of St. John Baptist in Mayfield. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and is made of stone with an oblong plan. The tomb features a hollow chamfered base, heavy moulded capping with chamfered under edges, and panelled sides. There are pilaster strips at the corners. The inscription on the south side is largely illegible but includes the words "MAYFIELD" and references to life and September.
