Description
This barn, located approximately 50 meters west of Old Hall Farmhouse, is possibly a tithe barn dating from the late 16th century, with alterations and restorations made in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with concrete and brick infill panels set on a concrete plinth, topped by a tiled roof. The structure consists of three bays with three tiers of square panels, and diagonal braces are positioned under the wall plate at the trusses. Each bay has three fixed-light windows in the center panel, located under the eaves, with the right-hand window having a bottom-hung casement vent in the panel directly below. There are boarded entrance doors to the left of the center bay and at the right end. The rear elevations are constructed of brickwork, while the left gable is weatherboarded. Inside, there is no loft flooring, and the roof structure includes double purlins with short windbraces on collar and tie queen-post trusses.
