Description
The building is a former cowhouse and stable, dating to 1827. It is located approximately 5 yards northeast of Calwichbank Farmhouse. The construction utilizes coursed, dressed, and squared large stone blocks, topped with a clay tile roof. The stable section, with a loft above, is approximately four roof bays wide on the left-hand side, featuring three ridge louvres. To the right is a single-storey cowhouse, also approximately four roof bays wide, with three ridge louvres. The stable has a stable-type door to the left, a bottom-hung casement window to its left, a blocked door to the centre, a blocked window to the left of the centre, and a further bottom-hung casement to the right. The cowhouse displays a blocked doorway to the left, a stable-type door and a blocked doorway to the centre. The southwest gable has a flight of stone steps leading to a loft door, with the date "1827" inscribed above. Internally, the building has a king-post roof.
