Description
Nos. 2 and 4 Church Street are an early 19th-century red brick building, originally the unaltered right-hand half of a terrace. The structure has a prominent, shallow gable rising to an apex on the left side. It is arranged over two storeys and an additional two storeys with an attic. There are four sash windows, alongside three blocked windows that retain the appearance of painted glazing bars within lined reveals, each topped with a small cornice hood. Two moulded wooden doorcases feature rectangular fanlights composed of small rounded panes, each protected by a pedimented wooden porch. A bold, lined cornice runs along the eaves, and the roof is covered with slates. A passageway is situated on the left-hand side, distinguished by panelled stucco pilasters and a rusticated arched head.
