Description
The remains of the old Church of St Augustine are located on Colton Road. The structure is in a ruined and derelict state, set within a graveyard. The Early English tower, which is buttressed and embattled, remains intact. The north aisle arcade, featuring both Norman and Early English styles, is still present and connects to the chancel and north chapel. These areas are roofed, well restored, and currently used as a Sunday school. Inside, there is a notable brass from 1566 and several early 17th century and early 18th century mural monuments and tablets, all dedicated to the Weston family.
