Description

Church Aston Manor is a large 18th-century red brick house, built on an earlier core. It has a plain tile roof with stone-coped gable ends and a parapet with a moulded modillion cornice. The house is three storeys high plus a basement, with five bays, though three bays on the first floor are blocked. It features sash windows with glazing bars and plain lintels. A central doorway to the right has a 19th-century moulded architrave and cornice, a flush panel door, and a flight of steps with an original iron balustrade. A large brick stack with diagonal shafts is also present.

Inside, a dog-leg staircase dates from the early 17th century, with pierced newel panels, slat balusters, a moulded string, and a handrail. One room retains 17th-century panelling and a 17th/18th-century bolection moulded chimney-piece. Another room has a moulded cornice, and a ceiling beam with 17th-century stopped chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
