Description

The building is a former Methodist school chapel, built in 1777 by John Fletcher. It originally served as a day school and a chapel in the evenings, ceasing its chapel function in 1837. It is a plain, rectangular brick building with a tiled roof featuring gabled ends and brick dentil eaves. The structure is one storey with an attic. It has a three-window range, with large windows displaying moulded stone round arches and keyblocks. The west gable end has an attic lunette, with a blank plaque set below on console brackets. Beneath the plaque is a partly blocked Venetian window. A later 19th-century brick extension was added to the east end.
