Description
The Church of St Michael, built in 1865 by G.E. Street, replaces a small Georgian church and is designed in the Early English style. This small building is made of pink sandstone ashlar and features a tiled roof. The nave has cusped triple lancet windows, while the west end includes three lancets topped by a rose window and a polygonal bell-turret, which is corbelled over the gable and has a short stone spire. The chancel features pairs of lancets with trefoiled lights above and a three-light east window with intersecting tracery. There is a timber-framed porch on the northwest side.
Inside, the church has sandstone ashlar walls and arched brace roofs, along with contemporary furnishings. There are also a few 18th-century headstones located to the north and south of the church.
