Description
Limekiln Bank is a 17th century timber-framed house that underwent significant alterations in the mid to late 19th century. During this period, the roof was raised and the walls were faced with red brick, transforming it into an estate house. The timber framing remains visible on the north gable end. The house has a tiled roof with gabled ends and stands two stories tall, featuring a three-window range. The windows are modern metal frame casements set in 19th-century openings with flat brick arches. There is a central doorway that is topped by a Victorian gabled timber porch. The building has brick ridge and end stacks. At the rear, there is a brick wing that likely dates from the 18th century but was altered in the 19th century. Inside, the house features chamfered ceiling beams.
