Description

The Quaker Burial Ground is a small burial site likely dating from the early 19th century. It is a rectangular area of grass located on a steep hillside above Darby Road, enclosed by brick walls. Small, plain headstones are positioned against the longer side walls, featuring weathered inscriptions that once marked the graves of many notable Quakers, including members of the Darby family. A Quaker meeting house was situated nearby, and Abraham Darby III specified in his will that funds should be allocated for the maintenance of both the meeting house and the burial ground.
