Description
Rosehill House is an early to mid-18th century building that now serves as a museum. It is constructed of painted brick with stone dressings and features a hipped plain tile roof, along with brick end stacks. The house has a heavy moulded eaves cornice and chamfered quoins. Its symmetrical three-storey, five-bay frontage includes sash windows in flush frames, with glazing bars except for the ground floor windows. The central entrance has a semi-circular headed door opening, with a plain door set beneath an arched fanlight, and is topped by a triangular pediment on console brackets.
Inside, the house features a contemporary staircase and pilastered door architraves. Abraham Darby II lived in this house, which was likely begun by Abraham Darby I but was not completed until after his death.
