Description

Christ Church is a Gothic church built in 1838 by Thomas Smith of Madeley. It is constructed of yellow brick with minimal stone dressings and has slate roofs. The church features a wide nave with lancet windows situated between buttresses that have set-offs. At the east end, there is a short chancel with octagonal corner turrets topped with stone pinnacles and an east window that has three lancet lights. The tall west tower is adorned with octagonal turrets, pinnacles, and battlements. It also includes moulded brick lancet bell openings and a clock face located below the west window. The design of Christ Church is similar to that of St Luke's Church in Ironbridge.
