Description
Nos 5, 7, and 9 on New Street are a late 18th century to early 19th century red brick front that conceals an earlier timber frame building. The structure features a tiled roof with gabled ends, and the timber framing is visible in the gable end. It has a stone cornice and blocking course, standing three storeys tall with four bays. The first and second floors are arcaded with segmental arches and brick pilasters that have plain stone imposts. The windows are sashes with glazing bars and voussoired lintels. The ground floor has three modern shop fronts. Some timber framing is exposed at the rear, but it is mostly covered by later wings.
