Description
Little Hales Manor House, including the adjoining outbuilding to the north-west, is a large timber-framed house dating from around the 16th century, which underwent significant restoration in the late 19th century. Much of the timber frame is covered with applied boarding, and the porch has been re-plastered. The house features a sandstone plinth and a plain tile roof, with gabled crosswings at each end. The north end has a double gable that projects outwards. The building is two storeys high and has a window arrangement of 1:3:2, with mostly modern two and three-light casements that include glazing bars. There are two 19th-century gabled porches with panelled doors, as well as large brick chimney stacks with diagonal shafts. The rear of the house is faced with brick, also from the 19th century. The adjoining outbuilding, likely from the 17th century, is two storeys tall, with a ground floor made of sandstone ashlar and timber framing above, featuring plastered infill panels and a loft door in the gable end.
