Description
The Church of St John is a parish church located in Trent Vale, Stoke on Trent. It was built in two phases, the first from 1843 to 1844 and the second in 1908. The church is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a plain tiled roof.
The original nave includes a south aisle and a west tower. The west tower has three stages, clasping buttresses, a west doorway with a chamfered arch and hood mould, lancet windows, and paired bell chamber lights. Above the tower is a corbel table and a stone broach spire. The south aisle consists of three bays with lancet windows and has an aisle chapel that projects to the southeast.
The present nave is a later addition and includes a five-light west window above a polygonal projecting baptistery. There is a north doorway in the porch and four north windows with simple traceried lights. The east window also features similar tracery, along with three lancets in the eastern part of the original section.
