Description
Almshouses, numbered 1-4, were built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and feature a hipped old tile roof. The building is arranged in a U-shape and is one storey high. It has a plinth and a central ridge stack for each range. The facade displays a rhythm of 1:5:1 bays, with the central bay slightly projecting. Above this bay is a triangular pedimented gable end, and below it is a round archway with impost blocks. The windows are two-light casements with segmental heads, and there are segmental-headed boarded doors located in the second and sixth bays. The left-hand return front has two two-light casements on the right, four-light casements off-centre to the left, and a boarded door on the left. The right-hand return front features a two-light casement on the left and a boarded door on the right.
