Description
Old Hall is a house that likely dates back to the 15th century, with alterations made in the 17th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and some stone walling. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a central brick ridge stack, along with a stack on a projecting lean-to. The building is a hall-house with an open hall still intact. It has a single storey, a cellar, and an attic. The front has a four-window range of one- and two-light leaded casements, with plank doors located to the centre left and right. There is a lean-to that projects forward on the left side and a cellar door to the right. The building also has two two-light dormers with partly leaded lights, and stone walling on the right end below the tie beam, with a two-light leaded casement above. The rear features small casements. The framing is irregular square-panel. Inside, the building has a stack that was inserted in the 17th century into a possible smoke bay, and it has an arched-brace collar-truss roof with coupled rafters and cusped windbraces.
