Description

This is an early to mid-19th century Church of England School, located on a raised site in Claverley. The building is constructed of red brick, set above a battered retaining wall of stone rubble. It is two storeys high. The side elevations feature three tall, narrow windows with raking hood moulds that extend above the eaves to form gablets. The central section includes two windows, a doorway with a pointed arch and hood mould, and one additional window; it has dentilled eaves and tall brick stacks. A central bellcote with a pyramidal roof and old tiles is also present. A convex walled ramp leads up to the building, surmounting the retaining wall. The school forms a group with All Saints Church, the Vicarage, and a lychgate, along with Clarecott on Pound Street.
