Description

The Jones Memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 5 metres north of the north porch of the Church of St George in Clun. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed from sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a cavetto-moulded plinth and raised panels, with recessed corner piers that have moulded capitals and bases, as well as panels adorned with foliage drops in light relief. A moulded cornice crowns the flat top of the tomb. It commemorates Edward Jones, who died in 1790, and Margaret Jones, who died in 1796.
