Description

Whitehall Place is a terrace of 16 houses built around 1840 in Shrewsbury. The houses are constructed with stucco over brick, and have Welsh slate roofs. They were built in three sections to accommodate the sloping site. The terrace is two storeys high, with each house originally featuring a two-window design. Each house has a 6-panelled front door with a lozenge-shaped window above, set within a moulded architrave with console brackets and panelled rebates. Original 12-pane sash windows are present alongside the doors, with two windows above. Alternate upper windows are fitted with wrought-iron balconies on both the lower and upper floors, while the central range has a continuous balcony. The eaves overhang, and the overall design is plain.
