Description

Streatley House is a building that has been converted into offices. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with a core that originates from the 17th century. The structure is made of brick, featuring a slate roof at the front and a steeper plain tile pitch at the rear. It has three storeys and likely a cellar, with a three-window range. The windows are late 19th-century plain sashes set in moulded cases, topped with keyed and grooved stucco lintels. The eaves are also moulded.

The central entrance features a 20th-century glazed door with an open pediment hood supported by consoles, flanked by 20th-century windows with panels above. On the left side, the building is roughcast and includes a returned storey band. There is a half-glazed, fielded panel door in a beaded frame, along with a fanlight in a decorated panel, all set in a moulded case beneath an arched head.

At the rear, there is an 18th-century wing with an 8/8 sash window under a cambered head, and a similar window above it. The roughcast ground floor features a late 19th-century bay window with plain sashes. The roof has modillioned eaves and a plain tile covering. There is also a half-glazed fielded panel door to the left, and the end gable is partly roughcast, showcasing an 18th-century stepped stack with a string course and two casements, with the attic window set in a moulded case.

Inside, a room with a bay window reveals exposed timber framing in the ceiling and walls. The front right room on the ground floor has painted panelling on the rear wall.
