Description
The Bridge Inn is a farmhouse that has been converted into an inn, likely built in the early 19th century with later additions and alterations. It is constructed from uncoursed sandstone rubble and features alternating angle quoins, with slate roofs that have coped verges and carved stone kneelers. The building has two storeys and an attic, with horned glazing bar sash windows set beneath plain stone lintels on either side of a roughly central entrance. This entrance is framed by an eared architrave and has half-glazed double doors. There are two gabled eaves dormers with 20th-century casements. The building has integral end stacks on both sides, and to the right, there is a contemporary parallel gabled range at the rear with red brick chimney shafts. To the left, there is a slightly set-back lean-to that is probably contemporary or slightly later, featuring a doorway with a rectangular overlight and a horned glazing bar sash window at the front. A 20th-century flat-roofed addition at the rear is not considered to have special architectural interest.
