Description
Laurel House is a house dating from the early to mid 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with plastered infill set on a brick plinth and has a slate roof.
The house has small square panels in its framing, with three panels extending from the sole plate to the former wall plate. It consists of two framed bays, with a later addition on the right side. The building is two storeys high and has a brick stack located behind the ridge, slightly off-centre to the left, which was rebuilt above the roof in the 20th century. The front has four windows, which are 20th-century two-light wooden casements. There is a 20th-century six-panelled door situated between the first and second windows from the left, accompanied by a gabled porch. The left-hand gable end features a collar and a cambered tie-beam truss with queen struts.
Inside, the eaves were raised, likely in the late 19th or early 20th century. The roof trusses remain intact, including a central truss and a former right-hand end truss, both with tie beams, collars, and queen struts. The right-hand truss has a cambered tie beam.
