Description
Nos. 46 and 47, High Street, Shrewsbury, are a late 19th-century shop, and may incorporate an earlier building behind the facade. The building is constructed in a "Shrewsbury style," which imitates timber framing, and has a plain tiled roof. It is three storeys high and two windows wide. A late 19th-century shop front features a recessed doorway flanked by curved glass windows with slender mullions and a copper sill. The mock timbering forms panels and includes some quatrefoil decoration in the upper storeys. The first floor has two shallow oriel windows with mullions and transoms. A projecting central gable has a four-light mullioned window, with coved jettying in the gable apex. The bargeboards have decorative interlace detailing and finials.
