Description
The Old Hall is a former service wing to the demolished Badger Hall, now serving as a private house. It dates from around 1700 and is constructed of red brick on a sandstone plinth, topped with a plain tiled hipped roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and features a garden front with seven bays. The central entrance, which is a late 20th-century addition, is set in an arched recess, flanked by two other late 20th-century doorways. Although the fenestration has been altered, two elliptical windows remain on the first floor, and there are five dormers in the roof slope. The exterior includes a floor band and a moulded stone eaves cornice, along with two brick ridge stacks. The rear faces a courtyard and is made of sandstone ashlar, featuring late 20th-century sash windows and a late 20th-century Greek Doric colonnade. Other ranges date from the mid to late 19th century and are single-storeyed with red brick and slate roofs, including gabled gateways to the north and south with a room above.
