Description
Oaks Hall is a farmhouse, now divided into two, likely dating from the late 16th century with significant later additions and alterations. The building is roughcast, probably covering a timber frame, and features a plain tile roof. It has an H-plan layout and stands two storeys high, with a window arrangement of 1:3:1, all fitted with late 20th-century casements. The entrances are located in the third bay from the left in the main range and through a late 20th-century timber lean-to porch on the left return of the left cross-wing. There are two lateral stacks on the right cross-wing and one on the left, with another stack located behind the ridge of the main range. The gable of the left cross-wing displays exposed purlin and wall-plate ends. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest; it is noted that some oak panelling was removed from the house in the late 19th century.
