Description
This barn, located approximately 40 meters east of Sweeney Hall, dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick in a random bond pattern, sitting on an uncoursed limestone rubble plinth. The barn features shaped gable ends and a slate roof with a toothed eaves cornice. On the west side, there is a wide former threshing entrance with a segmental head, flanked by buttresses and two segmental-headed windows. The east side's threshing entrance has been infilled. Inside, the barn has a king post roof divided into three bays, with tie beams resting on brick partitions. Attached to the north are 19th-century stone-built stables, which are not considered to have special architectural interest.
