Description

The Rectory is a house with a core dating to the 17th century, with further additions from the 14th century. The exterior is roughcast, with a roof of old plain tiles arranged in two pitches and featuring a large gable to the front. The house is two storeys and an attic, and has a four-window front. A 2-light casement window is set within the gable, with two 2-light casements to the left and a 3-light casement to the right; all are 20th-century additions within moulded architraves. A 20th-century dormer window sits over the roof, containing a 2-light casement with a pointed head.

The central bay is of rubble construction and contains the entrance, featuring a 20th-century battened plank door within a moulded case and a screen with coloured leaded lights, all beneath a chamfered stone pointed arch bearing a fragmentary inscription. A jetty extends above the entrance, supported by plain roughcast brackets. To the left of the entrance are two cross-windows, and to the right, two smaller cross-windows, both early 20th century with casements and moulded architraves. A 2-light casement in a moulded architrave is found on the gable of the returning side.

The rear elevation has a lower cat-slide roof to the right and a central bay of brick. Two brick stacks stand on stone bases to the left. The fenestration is irregular, with openings under brick arches, some within what appear to be medieval recesses. Four roof dormers, likely dating to the 19th century, are also visible.
