Description
No. 19 on Sheinton Street is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later 18th-century cladding and eaves that were raised in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is timber-framed and covered in random rubble, with a stone slab roof and a large brick ridge stack positioned to the left of the center. It has a baffle entry plan that runs from northwest to southeast, facing east. The house is two storeys high and features irregular fenestration, with two windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor, all wooden casements of varying ages. To the right of the front, there is a wide segmental brick arch, partially blocked by a ground-floor window, which is made of red brick. This arch may indicate the former location of a shop window or a carriage entry, although it seems unlikely since the stone plinth continues below the former opening. There is a boarded door situated between the left and center ground-floor windows. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to include ceiling beams and an inglenook fireplace. The building is included for its group value only.
