The Villa

The Villa is a house located in Cheney Longville, dating from the early 17th century, with a remodel around 1766 and an extension added in the early 19th century. The exterior features roughcast on rubble with plain tile roofs, a brick end stack, and a brick lateral stack at the rear.

It is two storeys high and has a three-window range with 20th-century casements set in lined reveals. The entrance is on the right, featuring a plank door beneath a porch hood supported by consoles, with a light to the left. There is a small 19th-century canted bay window under a plain tile pentice roof. To the right, there is a wing with a lower roof line, which includes a 19th-century half-dormer above a three-light casement and a brick end stack, along with a rubble outshut. The left side of the building is returned and made of painted stone rubble, featuring a similar bay window with a brick riser and a gable tablet inscribed with "S.E.S. 1766".

Inside, the house retains 17th-century cross-frames and stop-chamfered ceiling beams, a winder stair, and flagstone floors.
