Description

The Dower House is a late 18th-century farmhouse, now a house, located in Cheney Longville. The building is constructed with roughcast render, a slate roof and brick stacks to the rear, and is arranged in an H-shaped plan.

The exterior is two storeys high, with a three-window front. It features eight-pane sashes with grooved stucco lintels, and moulded stone eaves. The central entrance has a half-glazed panelled door sheltered by a flat wooden hood supported by Roman Doric columns and pilasters. It is flanked by matching sash windows and lintels, with painted stone quoins. A returned side has a row of similar sashes. One wing features a row of mullion and transom casements, alongside a row of ten-pane sashes to the cross-wing. The rear of the cross-wings also have brick stacks. The right returned side displays a mullion and transom window within the gable of the cross-wing.

The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
