Description
The Halfway House and Seven Stars Inn is a house and public house built around 1870. It features painted brick construction and a Welsh slate roof, with red brick stacks at each end. The building has a simple layout, consisting of one single public room accessed directly from the front entrance.
The exterior is two storeys high and has three bays with a central doorway, along with an additional lean-to on the right side. Most windows are three-light centre-opening casements, except for the upper window in the lean-to, which is a two-light casement. There is a dentil course beneath the eaves.
Inside, the single public room has a red tiled floor and includes a pair of high-back settles, which define a corridor leading to a plank door that opens to private accommodation. The settles are secured to the ceiling by iron bars, and there is a fixed bench seat under the window. The fire surround dates from around 1925. This establishment is now an extremely rare example of a rural beer-house that retains its single public room intact.
