Description

This is a chest tomb located 2 metres west of the tower of the Church of St Peter, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of ashlar stone and features a lid with moulded edges. The sides have raised inscribed panels with inset corners and fluted corner piers. The plinth is chamfered and recessed below the panels. Originally, the tomb was painted white with black lettering. It commemorates Richard Cleeton, who died in 1824, and Richard Cleeton, who died in 1882.
